Ever had a friend who has zero problem making a gigantic asshole out of herself with you? On a college Friday night while everyone else is out and about drinking copious amounts of beer but you wanted to stay in and make cards with rubber stamps (I was such a slut in college) and your bestie did, too (I think the love of craft making on weekends kind of sealed our friendship forever fate). Or instead of putting your best black pants on for a Saturday night out (with no coat on in an Iowa December while walking to the bars), you two decided to give being in a band a whirl instead and play air drums and a mean air guitar to Journey songs?
Ever had a friend that hid what you thought was a double chin (WTF was I worried about back then? Now, I might need the assistance) in photos for you?
Ever had a friend dork out with you while studying in the sun, trying to scope out boys on Sunday afternoons (I apparently thought that washing one’s hair and putting makeup on was not necessary while trying to land a boyfriend – and I didn’t even have a booze hangover – I had a crafting hangover. Jesus).
Ever had a gal pal who didn’t mind that you framed a picture where her eyes were shut (I’m such a sweet friend) because you thought the rest of the crew looked like they were having fun (and extremely schnockered up) on her birthday?
Ever had a friend where you thought it necessary to share the same hairstyle?
Ever had a friend that loved the holidays as much as you – making them all the more memorable?
Ever had a friend you don’t get to see very often but when you do, you pick up right where you left off no matter how much time has passed between visits?
Ever had a friend who knows your best stories and lived a lot of them with you? Lucky us.
Happy Birthday Tdawg!

Awwwwwwwwwww!!!
I know…a little tug at nerdy heart strings, huh?!
Awww, I love this! And my bestie and I would walk to the bars in our college town that snowed all winter….without coats…too. I mean, who wants to keep track of a coat? Ever? Just needed a pocket for that ID, man. And no need for money (boys buy drinks) or cell phones (not invented yet!). We’ll meet you at your dorm in half an hour! Happy Birthday to your BFF!
Ha! I love it! What was it about no coats? No money? And mo need for a cell phone?! Seems so crazy now!
It wouldn’t work in today’s world. Kids these days. Sheesh.
Awww…. This is lovely.
Thank you! We’ve had some fun times, obviously!
“Ever had a friend you don’t get to see very often but when you do, you pick up right where you left off no matter how much time has passed between visits?” Yes! I have two or three friends that immediately come to mind that are all out of state! I remember going through a lonely period awhile ago, and when I saw one of these friends again (even though it had been more than a year), we just started right in on Subjects We Loved. And it was so easy. And it made me feel a little more human.
Isn’t it fabulous having friends that can breeze right in and make everything seem better? I’m lucky to have a few of them and while most of them live out-of-state from me, I cherish our time together, even in the smallest of doses! Especially when I’m feeling lonely!
Awwwwe, how fun and sweet! I too have a friend like this, no matter how long we have seen each other we always pick right back up! A very special connection and post! 🙂
It’s the best, isn’t it? We’re lucky to have friends like this in our lives!
Aaawww, how sweet. I like the double chin picture. You guys look so cute.
I need her around now to do that in photos!
