Weekend Winks – I Do!

Wedding bells were ringing in Nashville this past weekend (and you can pick your jaw up off of the floor, it wasn’t my holy matrimony ceremony but a celebration I was lucky to take part in).

Wedding mania

Wedding mania!

In preparation for the big weekend shenanigans, Ted and I relaxed with our favorite wine Friday night.

Two winos

Feline wino.

After a bridal brunch on Saturday, the bridesmaids were treated to mani/pedis and this chick couldn’t have been more thrilled, as it’s been over 365 days since I had a pampering session in a salon.

Mani Pedi!

Wine + foot rubs + back massager chair = HEAVEN.

I ended up going with a traditional French mani but added a little sparkle (gotta spruce it up!) in the top coat.

A very classic French

Classic with a small twist.

As I was waiting for my nails to dry, I found out my niece in Iowa eats like her Auntie CBXB.

blah

Who needs a bottle when you can rub cereal all over your face?

While my nephew on the on the other hand, loves his face clean.

On Sunday, the bridesmaids donned our white, monogrammed (so Southern) button downs we received as gifts from the bride. Prancing around in my white shirt and Spanx, I felt like I was channeling Tom Cruise via his Risky Business days.

Risky Business

Any body have any tighty whities and a pair of tube socks I could borrow?

I also felt the need to steal a pink acoustic guitar that hung on the wall in our dressing room. It was way too cute not to touch.

Will this fit into my purse?

Will this fit into my purse?

After the happy couple said their “I dos,” friends gathered in the courtyard for cocktails and photos, where I tried to sneak into the background of every single snapshot.

Attempt 1

Didn’t you mean to ask me to be in the pic?

Score!

Oh, you two just wanted to be alone? Sorry!

During our girls pic, we were photo bombed by a master, who looks like he might be trying to take off in flight Superman style.

Best one yet

Does he have a cape on?

Upon my late return home last night, Teddy was less than impressed with the non-quality time I spent with him this weekend, so he decided to express his dismay vocally by singing (at the top of his tiny lungs) a meow song all night long. He apparently exhausted himself because this is how he looked when I left for work this morning.

One eyed willie

Pampered prince.

I’m the one that looks like I’ve been up all night singing on this sunny Monday.

Go figure.

  1. Love your risky business pic almost as much as I love the pink guitar!

  2. Do you ever just stay at home and relax on a weekend??

I passed through Nashville on my way to FL. I thought of you probably sitting at Dalton’s (is that the name of the place?) while I was in a van with three kids. I sort of hated you for a brief second. Lol.

    • Hee hee. I love to be hated! You should have stopped at Dalts (very good memory, by the way) and your kids could have sat on the restaurant side while we bellied up to the bar for several cold ones.

And sitting home to relax on a weekend?! What does that mean?

  3. I want that guitar. Your hair looks good in those pictures. I like the mani too.

  4. You looks so beautiful in these photos! Such a lovely post!
    Always fun!

  5. Awww…. Yes I did pick up my jaw cos for a second I thought it was yours and you ladies look lovely and beautiful.

  6. Pampering! I’m jealous. Excellent photobombing skills, ladycakes!

You in a crisp white shirt and Spanx and holding a pink guitar… it just does not get any better then that my dear.

  8. Holy Hot UpDo Mamacita!
And that guitar so has your name written all over it…just saying.

  9. 360-some days without a pampering? Eee-gads. It’ was TIME!

Weddings are wonderful… (as long as they’re someone else’s, right?) You look great.

    • YES! Weddings are the best as long as I’m not the bride. πŸ™‚

I about died of relaxation getting my mani/pedi. After I get caught up after moving, I’m setting aside a little fund to do it more often. I forgot how much I like other people doing my nails!

      • When we traveled to spas, while others were getting massages and body treatments, I opted for the mani/pedi, which I think is supremely more relaxing. (There’s something not entirely relaxing about taking all my clothes off for strangers–that’s the Victorian prude I inherited from Grammy talking). They would often discount me because I didn’t get polish (I’m allergic, remember?)

You might be able to barter with some shops–you get services in return for reviewing them on your blog. ?

      • That’s such a fabulous idea. If I ever have money, you’re hired as my ‘idea maker.’ You game?

      • I have a million of them. I’ve often wondered how I could sell each of my million ideas for $1.

        In other words, I’m game.

Nice sparkly nails and tres chic upswept hair!
Love the niece and nephew photos. They look like happy, beautiful kids.

  11. Cutest kitty picture ever! Was the monogrammed white shirt just for lounging before the ceremony? Love the photo bombs!

    • Teddy thanks you for the compliment – he loves hearing all about himself. πŸ™‚ The shirt was our ‘getting ready’ attire before the ceremony and they looked so cute on everyone. And photo bombing is my one area of expertise. I must keep it alive!

  12. Teddy! Teddy! I’m in Nashville tonight! No really! But we are leaving tomorrow morning… Sending you purrs from the three of us.

My human says she likes your French mani with sparkles (she’s typing so I guess I have to let her comment a bit too…)

  13. Ms B. BAD says:

Love the glitter to the french mani, what a fun idea and your niece..oh my cuteness!

  14. LifeOfBun says:

Hahah you have a knack for photobombing. :’D And why WHY does your hair always look so gorgeous. You’re making my frizz freak out. It’s okay frizz, it’s okay, we’ll get there one day. :’)

    • Photo bombing is my passion, so I practice every single chance that arises! And as for my hair…thank you for the compliment! My “secret” is that my stick straight hair will not hold any kind of curl for more than three seconds, so it’s either a straight, long ‘do or up outta my face. Embrace the frizz!

  15. kellisamson says:

Congrats to your friend! Nice mani and bun!

  16. You are absolutely gorgeous!!! Shenanigans and all πŸ˜‰

  17. SerachShiro says:
