Fairy God-Mani

You know I take being a (fairy) Godmother very seriously. And it took great consideration to decide how to paint my nails for my niece and nephew’s baptism this past weekend.

blah

Matching a mani to a god-daughter’s outfit.

I decided to go with a bright pink base (for little diva B) accompanied by gray tips (for the all boy B).

blah

Perfect accessory for camo pants and a baby belly, don’t you think?

After applying a base, I painted two coats of Orly’s Oh Cabana Boy and let dry for about three minutes. Then I used one swipe of Orly’s fabulously sparkly Rock Solid on the tips, followed by Seche Vite top coat for completion.

Mani-Twins

Little diva B was so engaged with my mani, she couldn’t let go of my finger (well, actually she got grabby with my bling bling diamond pinky ring – who can blame her?!).

Wouldn't let go probably not because she loved the mani but fell in love with my bling blibg pinky ring

A lover of all things sparkly already! Following in Godmother CBXB’s footsteps…look out.

It’s never too early to learn that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, right?

She’s learning from a pro.

Stadi-Mani-um

What do you do when you have an all access stadium pass for a Kenny Chesney concert? You paint your nails, of course.

All access mani

All access mani.

I inadvertently trashed my nails while getting all of the tour bus goodies for our weekend company trip to see Mr. Chesney.

The nail chipper

A perfect mani’s worst nightmare. Loading and unloading and reloading a shopping cart.

I couldn’t be caught dead with no nail polish, so as I was sauntering about the stadium I found a spot and threw some paint on my fingers.

blah

I’m the blob in the middle of the bleachers, performing a pre-concert mani.

Because I was in a hurry (I didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun) and this was only a temporary mani, I applied one coat of Seche Vite base coat, then tipped the ends in pink.

This six-minute paint job did the trick in covering my naked nails, making me appear all access ready.

blah

Thank God I always have extra polish with me – I’m sure my bare nails would have had a direct effect on Kenny’s performance.

Mani-cation

When going on vacation, a manicure must be all gussied up, agree?  For my recent trip to Key West, I went with silver, neon pink and a tad of black.

Gaudy? Yes. Fabulous? Always.

A Captain Colada with matching flashy nails. Sigh.

A Captain Colada with matching flashy nails. Sigh.

To achieve this look use two coats of China Glaze’s Platinum Silver, followed by one thick coat of Pixi nail color in Summer Pink on the tips and a thin strip of Milani Nail Art Laquer in Black Sketch. Finish with one coat of Seche Vite top coat (the best ever in my book) for a complete vacay mani.

Beach action

Beached Nails.

Of course being back at work for a full week of work already has me wondering…

Of course being back for a full week of work has me already wondering...

Does this contain a mimosa or Bailey’s and coffee…?

I know you feel so badly for me.

Cheers!

Zebra Style Mani

OK, so it’s not actual zebra stripes…but has the black and white theme going – does that count?

White, black and bedazzled.

White, black and bedazzled.

This color combo pops against all things pink (the hue of which makes up 89% of my wardrobe).

A stand out against pink.

A stand out against pink.

After a base coat, apply two light coats of the white and let it dry three minutes. Apply the black tips and finish with your favorite top coat (mine is Seche Vite).

Now go get your zebra colored mani on!

Pink Lady

For some reason, this mani makes me think of the Pink Ladies in one of my fave movies, Grease. A little girlie with the hot pink polish, topped with a stripe of black “I’m a bad ass” on the tips.

The black makes this mani a little rough around the edges.

The black makes this mani a little rough around the edges…just like Danny Zuko!

To Rizzo‘fy your nails, start with a base coat followed by two coats of pink. Let the polish set for about five minutes, paint the black strip accompanied by a top coat.

Now all reactions to statements said to me this week will be “tell me about it, Stud.” I mean with a mani like this, why not?
