In the past four days, I’ve partied with Bruno Mars (from 1,500 feet away at his concert), joined country singer Jake Owen’s 10,000 closest fans for a free block concert AND stepped foot on my all time favorite guitar player in the world’s tour bus – Aerosmith’s Joe Perry (although he didn’t know it and for sure could care less). I can officially die happy (well, you know what I mean).
Thousands of fans waited for Jake Owen to take the stage, while I had a better way to kill time.
My hero of the summer casually asked me if I’d like to see Joe Perry’s tour bus. The look of “are you f’ing kidding me” on my face probably sealed the deal immediately – although I was all “OK, if we have time.”
I lost all kinds of my cool when the bus door opened and normal black steps were transformed into my staircase to heaven by little, tiny twinkle lights.
Thank you Jesus that there was no one else on the bus so I didn’t have to swallow my excitement and could openly lose my damn mind.
As if the zebra print walls weren’t enough, a stained glass Aerosmith (who just happens to be my all time favorite band) logo hung in the lounge area of the bus.
As we sauntered back toward the bedroom, a full length mirror greeted us with Joe and his wife’s names etched into it (maybe in case he forgets who he’s married to?).
When you’re a rock star, you need to keep your instrument close. Above the bed was a lighted resting place for the guitar player’s treasured instrument which of course got me to thinking that I needed to take Teddy’s measurements, so he could have a cut out above my bed (the lights would be pink, of course).
And how in the world could I leave without rolling around Joe Perry’s bed? I mean, the freaking blanket screamed for me to try it out.
Don’t go worrying your pretty little heads off. I came down from the my tour bus dream clouds and made it back in time to see Mr. Owen rock Nashville’s Monday night cares away.
I’m movin’ and shakin’ with all kinds of stars – they just don’t know it.
I wonder who won’t know they’re hanging out with me next..
I’ll keep ya posted.
