Ted and His Big Head

Remember how Teddy made his debut in Times Square a few months back (if not, click here to read), forever securing his spot on the Kitty Wall of Fame (well, maybe he’s not there yet but he’s getting there, OK)?

He hasn't come down from this cloud yet...

He hasn’t come down from this cloud yet…

Phil Lanoue (one of our blogging besties), who originally captured Mr. Bear in all of his NYC glory has found a way to grossly enlarge my kit cat’s furry noggin again.  While Ted was less than impressed with watching Fourth of July fireworks on TV due to a soggy Nashville, Phil (who took time out from photographing wildlife like alligators to cater to His Royal Famousness, Teddy Back Bear) figured out a way to entice this grouchy cat by putting him right on the Jumbotron, smack dab in the middle of a fireworks display. Upon seeing himself, TB almost immediately (it took Bear about five seconds to lift his head up after I told him to look at the gigantic TVs) demanded a belly rub for his daunting appearance (being famous is such hard work) and this feline was back in the saddle full of attitude.

BIG screen action shot.

Big head due to the big screen.

While Mr. Bear has become a known Nashville star (I’m such a proud Mama), he thought he could act a little Justin Bieberesque and rudely stick out his tongue. Teenagers!  But still, he’s just the cutest thing you’ve ever seen during a Fourth of July show, right? RIGHT?

It’s a good thing we’ve just moved to a larger mini-manse because the bigger rooms allow Ted to enter with his now elephant sized head.  And no, Katie Couric nor Ellen DeGeneres have called (yet) to feature this amazingly talented (looks count as a talent, yes?) feline on their talk shows but when they do, Teddy is more than ready as he has perfected his pawtograph.

I’m thinking a $10 fee is a reasonable fee for a paw print (Phil, you get one for free), don’t you?

I’m gonna be the best stage mom ever. Just like Dina Lohan. Or maybe I mean Kris Jenner.

Either way look out world, here we come!

Weekend Winks – Auntie Style!

Fabulous and exciting news from Nashville this weekend!

Proudly introducing the long-awaited, swift arrival of our newest Iowa family members – making me a first time Aunt and Teddy a cousin (which gives him a new nickname CT – Cousin Ted)!

Biggest gifts ever!

BEST. GIFTS. EVER.

While soaking in our family’s fabulous Friday arrivals, my mom and I added to the adrenaline by traveling to see the ELVIS LIVES show in Kentucky.

blah

Go see this! On tour now (click here for dates and tickets).

And while I think I might have been the youngest concert-goer (putting extra pep in my high heeled step) in the theater, Elvis had love for all of the white-haired worshipers in the audience.

Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love

Hunka Hunka Burnin’ Love

And while I was screaming at Elvis to give me one of his damn scarves, my mini-me was getting excited to go see Justin Bieber in Miami!

My little mini-me is a Beliber for sure!

A Beliber for sure!

Saturday led to a little ribbing of my longtime friend, Riq, who turned the big 5-0.

The

Nice necklace, huh?

I found my favorite party-goer in about 3 seconds flat.

cat bond

Opie and I bonded (don’t tell Teddy!).

Running into a hungry, hungry hippo forced me to white knuckle my wine.

blah

Thank God hippo teeth aren’t shark sharp.

I further admired a magnet, left for me on my desk at work this week. Wonder why?

blah

Do you think that this should read 1st glass and 2nd glass, since my wine glasses hold entire bottles of wine?

Sunday morning I hiked calories away, so I could justify lunch at my personal Cheers (favorite menu item is a Skinny Pirate).

lunch

Mimosa specials on Sundays!

Teddy bathed on a sequin bag while I watched the SAG Awards and wrapped goodies for my niece and nephew.

Who needs bubbles when you have sparkle?

And speaking of sparkle, one of my Iowa besties found this delight on the floor of a store. I now want this on every entryway in my mini-manse and on each stair leading up to my front door. Too much?

love

Holla!

Hey, did I mention I became an Auntie on Friday?!

Any high chair or monitor advice (motion, video, just audio) for the new parents?

I can’t wait to get my hands on them next weekend!

Enjoy a fun day Monday!

It’s the Liebs, not the Biebs.

That’s right, I’m not talking Justin Bieber I’m talking a Blogster Liebster!

The oh-so-fabulous D-Anna at Style Salvation  and granted sparkly ol’ me with the Liebster Blog Award.  A grand gesture of kindness and by accepting, I must relay five random facts about myself, as well as answering five questions D-Anna has asked yours truly.

Random things by Cowboys and Crossbones…

1) My favorite movie of all time is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  My family (we’re so classy!) watches it every year during the holidays and it’s a tradition I anticipate right up there with Santa’s big night.

I mean, what family doesn’t have their very own cousin Eddie?

I love the movie so much that last year, I hosted a Griswolds (hence the Grizzie category on my blog) Family Christmas party.

This is my version of a crying Clark while he’s stuck in the attic and his arch nemesis of a neighbor, Margo.

And speaking of crying, I rarely cry. But when I do – I only have one kind…the ugly cry. The hot mess kind of cry. The what the hell is wrong with her kind of cry.  Once I start, I can’t stop.

Think I need to invest in waterproof mascara?

I have no recollection as to why I was being such a bawl baby, I simply remember how freaking hilarious I looked when I finally stopped long enough to look in a mirror. And of course, had to document the situation. You’re welcome.

3) I am really good at shotgunning a beer (even though I am not supposed to have beer with gluten intolerance issues but I can never refuse a challenge).

Once again beating my cousin Tballs in the annual chugging contest. Classy, I know.

4) One of my favorite Nashville pastimes is honky tonkin’ on Broadway. Robert’s Western World is home of two of the best Nashville bands you can see for free – The Don Kelley Band and the Chris Casello Trio. At Robert’s there is never a cover charge, always a fun crowd and they even feature a Recession Special on the menu – a fried bologna sandwich, chips, a moon pie AND a Pabst Blue Ribbon for $5.

Dancing circles around my dad at Robert’s.

5) Lipstick is the last thing I apply before any show.

Applying the reddest red before a show at the 40 Watt club in Athens, Georgia.
